The chemistry of stain removal
Spot and stain treatments vary with the situation, but one thing stays constant: the faster specialised treatment reaches a stain, the better the chance of complete removal.
Colour-rich fruit and cordial stains are best attended to quickly. Call us straight away and, where possible, we will organise to tend to your stain the same day. Even stains that have sat for days, weeks or years still have a chance of removal, or at least a good reduction.
Honest expectations
What affects the outcome
On rare occasions a stain cannot be removed completely. This is normally the result of an incorrect product or method used before we arrived, prolonged direct sunlight on the stain, or a stain left untreated for too long.
Sometimes a treatment cleans so well it leaves the area slightly lighter than the surrounding carpet. In these cases we recommend a full room clean to blend the area back in. We will always advise you honestly, including when a carpet repair is the better solution.
Trained and certified
Our technicians are IICRC certified and trained in the chemistry of stain removal. Most treatments are a one-off callout; where more are needed we will usually know in advance and tell you before we start.
